Prison Yoga Project

Project Description

Most prisoners suffer from unresolved traumas experienced early in life such as domestic violence, sexual abuse or drug and alcohol abuse, but also witnessing crime – including murdering. These experiences, imprinted by the terrifying emotions that accompany them, are held deeply in the mind and body. The Prison Yoga Project was founded by James Fox in the belief that yoga, is a tool to restore the connections with their mind, heart and body. They begin to care more about their bodies and understand the harm they have caused themselves and others.
