The Ocean Clean Cleanup Array has developed a technology that extracts, prevents and intercepts plastic pollution in our oceans.
An collection of attached floating barriers and platforms on the ocean’s surface concentrates the plastic before it’s extracted from the water. All without harming micro-organisms.
This incredible idea was founded by 19 year old entrepreneur Boyan Slat. After a diving trip in Greece he got frustrated by coming across more plastic than fish.
The Ocean Cleanup Array has been awarded Best Technical Design at the Delft University of Technology, and became second at the iSea sustainable innovation award by the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment.
