Two Dutch Street Artists Haas and Hahn first went to Rio de Janeiro 9 years ago. Shocked by the social divide and public opinion of the people living in the favelas but also inspired by the creativity and optimism of the people living in the favelas, they stumbled on an idea to let the locals paint their own neighborhoods. And in such a way that it would send out a positive message to the outside world and give the people a sense of pride. Now they’re aiming to even do a bigger project to involve more Brazilian youth. They need support from around the world to keep continue their positive work in the favelas.
